- The jurisdiction of GAWU cover all persons, be they, wage-earners or non-wage –earners in Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Poultry and Livestock and allied workers, agricultural and rural workers as well as members of the staff union.
- Membership of GAWU is open to all employees and the self-employed who fall within the jurisdiction of GAWU, including members of professional and managerial staff members, who are not in the higher echelon of policy-making and who are not representative of the owners of the business.
